We're rebooting the toolbox talk!
Brett has upgraded the tiny tackle box that he was using forever to take his model building upstairs, and he got a MUCH bigger toolbox to carry his work between the workshop and the living room (or wherever he goes)
This was a $15 toolbox that was picked up at Walmart and will serve his "mobile model building" much better!

In the last week of July, we talk about pretty much everything! From puddles and modeling after a thunderstorm (very specific scene to add to your layout), to our easiest and fastest builds and more!
We're going to start a Beer of the Week segment where we'll have some fun with our chosen beverage of the week.
Also, we talk a lot about our inspirations and what it takes sometimes for us to get excited to get back into the workbench/workshop. Sometimes it's a simple thing you'll see while driving, or in Brett's case, running. But we go over our favorite ways outside of model building that we glean inspiration from.

This week we had Jeff Adam of MotrakModelsUSA.com on the show and we took a deep dive into the work behind Motrak Models as well and talked about his wide variety of kits, rail car loads, detail parts, and his history in the model railroading hobby!
Jeff has been operating Motrak Models for a long time and has become one of the keystones in craftsman model railroading so he has a lot to discuss!

On episode 131 Todd & Brett talk about some weathering techniques for a stone wall that Brett made from Sterling Models (Brett is working on a YouTube video, it will be up this weekend!) It started with the plain hydrocal wall and we discuss the different layers that were applied to get the achieved result. Starting with some India ink wash and wrapping up with some basic acrylic colors. This is a simple way to make a kick-ass wall for your model railroad layout.
